P-Guard uses strong and certified cryptographic services, which allow encrypt any type of sensitive user’s data. Only person, who is owner of encrypted file may decrypt this file.
Shell integration allows to use P-Guard with maximum comfort: You can start P-Guard from right-mouse context menu or you can easily integrate the P-Guard in your favorite file manager.
As a rule, today all modern computers with Windows (starting from Win95 OSR + IE4/0), have powerful encryption systems. They are used practically insensibly for the user, for example when you visit safe Internet site.
Not every user knows, that the same encryption systems can be used for binary data encription (for example, files), using the verified and trusted algorithms. Why not use them not only to protect the online information, but also for files, which mustn’t be accessible for another persons?
But the problem is that in order to use already installed possibilities without additional software is rather dificult and more over make it correspondent to your needs.
P-Guard solves this problem.
On starting P-Guardchecks what kind of Cryptography Service Providers (CSP) installed in your computer and wheather you can use this services for encription binary data.
In order to do it P-Guard asks these CSPs (according to the Microsoft specification), what is the maximum lenght of the key they can provide.
All these including CSP name and lenght of the key can be customized by user.
As new CSPs appear, P-Guard includes them to its own base.
P-Guard esealy integrates itself to the shell and to major file managers. For this purpose there is Command Line option. Using you FileManager documents and this file description you can esealy tune FileManager’s configuration files to make the work more confortable.
